Daman Map

Daman is a small union territory on India's west coast, bordered by Gujarat on three sides and the Arabian Sea to the west. It is divided into two main areas — Moti Daman and Nani Daman — separated by the Damanganga River.

Daman Location

Daman is located at 20.4°N, 72.8°E on India's west coast. It is 12 km from Vapi (Gujarat), 170 km from Mumbai, and 130 km from Surat. It is part of the union territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu.

Moti Daman

Moti Daman (South Daman) is the older, historic part of Daman with the Portuguese fort, colonial churches, Devka Beach, and the main commercial area. Most tourist attractions are here.

Nani Daman

Nani Daman (North Daman) is across the Damanganga River and is known for Jampore Beach, Nani Daman Fort, and residential areas. It is connected to Moti Daman by a bridge.
